Residency
The Medical Physics Residency Program in Therapy Physics at Medical Radiation Physics, Inc. (MRP) is currently in the initial application process for accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP). The program will be based out of Cincinnati, OH. It is intended to be a 24-month program, with one PGY-1 level resident and one PGY-2 level resident. The program is designed such that graduates will be able to perform all the clinical tasks required from a Therapy Medical Physicist upon graduation, as well as being able to troubleshoot problems and identify areas of practice improvement. We also intend to prepare our graduates for the written and oral components of the American Board of Radiology (ABR) exam in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
The Medical Physics Residency program at MRP will be strictly clinical in nature, and will not be able to supplement any missing components from a graduate or certificate program, and must have completed or eligible to take the ABR Medical Physics Part 1 exam (ABR Part 1 Requirements), at the time of enrollment. Therefore, all interested applicants must have the following before application:
- Completed, or on track to complete, all graduate work from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program.
OR
- Possess a PhD in Physics or related discipline and have completed or on-track to complete a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program.
AND
- Have completed a CAMPEP accredited graduate or certificate program by the time of enrollment in the MRP Medical Physics Residency Program.
Prospective Residents will be asked to apply through the MedPhys Match program (MedPhys Match), once the Medical Physics Residency Program application has been approved.
